In Remembrance of Comrades Marie and Jack Shapiro
In celebration of the lifelong service to
the communist movement of Comrades Marie and Jack Shapiro, a memorial stone has
been placed in Highgate Cemetery (opposite the grave of Karl Marx).
Close family and friends, including
representatives of the CPGB-ML, gathered there on Sunday 17 October (the day
that Marie and Jack regularly celebrated the Glorious October Revolution) to
give a red salute to two staunch fighters for communism.
The inscription on the stone
reads:
“Marie
and Jack
“lifelong
Comrades
“All
their lives, all their strength, was given to the finest cause: the liberation
of humankind.
“We miss
you”
