Fraternal greetings from an Australian comrade on the occasion of the CPGB-ML’s rally marking the 97th anniversary of the October Revolution

Dear Comrades of the CPGB-ML,

Allow me to send you revolutionary greetings on the occasion of your celebrations for the 97th anniversary of the glorious Great October Socialist Revolution!

On this joyous celebration each year, we, as Marxist-Leninists pause in our work to end imperialism & create socialism, and look back at our work of the previous year, and look forward to the hard work ahead, forever inspired by the immortal legacy of the Soviet Union, led by the party of Lenin & Stalin.

The Great October Socialist Revolution was the dawn of the new epoch of socialism and the death of imperialism. Almost a century later, imperialism is in its final death throes, as witnessed by the daily spectacle of war & chaos that engulfs the world. With the proletariat facing only one choice to eliminate poverty & war, namely, the revolutionary replacement of imperialism with the dictatorship of the proletariat, it is more than ever critical for the proletariat to be led by a Party guided by the science of Marxism-Leninism. In each country, there are an abundance of Communist Parties. In the imperialist countries, there is no shortage of political organisations labelling themselves as ‘communist’ or ‘socialist’. In my own country, Australia, this is no exception. Yet, almost without exception, these parties are of the revisionist or Trotskyist variety.

For this reason, the International Communist Movement is grateful for the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist). As a communist on the other side of the world, I constantly look to the CPGB-ML for guidance and leadership in the Marxist-Leninist movement. I do this not out of any sentimental reason. I do so because the CPGB-ML proves itself time and time again to be guided solely by the science of Marxism-Leninism. Once again during the past year, another pivotal issue, while specifically directed at the British proletariat, yet also critically instructive to the international proletariat, arose. This was the Scottish national question. Even from the opposite side of the planet, I could gauge the emotion entailed in this question. The highly alluring and emotive slogans put forth by many who consider themselves socialist, even Marxist, for support of a Scottish ‘nation’ ensured that only a thoroughgoing analysis and debate could furnish a correct position on this divisive proposal. The CPGB-ML set an example to all Marxist-Leninists that by adhering to a dialectical approach, even the most difficult questions can be answered. I read in some forum that an individual claimed that the CPGB-ML’s position in rejecting the Scottish ‘nation’ weakened the party’s position. On the contrary. The CPGB-ML’s correct stance on determining what is and isn’t a nation has only enhanced her standing in my humble opinion. It has also taught invaluable lessons, both to British comrades, and to us outside Britain, on the critical importance of democratic centralism, which is the foundation of creating a Party of proletarian iron discipline, without which toppling imperialism and instituting the dictatorship of the proletariat is impossible.

To all my dear comrades of the CPGB-ML, I raise a toast to you on this glorious celebration. To the younger and newest comrades of the Party, I urge you to fully appreciate the Party you are a part of. To recognise your responsibility to continue to build the Party to maintain and strengthen her lofty standards, to master the science of Marxism-Leninism, to continue the unremitting hostility to revisionism, social-democracy and Trotskyism. By this, the day will come when you will lead the British proletariat to socialism and communism. Of this, I have no doubt. May that day be sooner rather than later.

Fraternally yours
